All my kids use it, and it is helping them Kids age are 8, 11, 17.
I bought this for my 9yr old son. He had to write his spelling words in cursive. He asked for it as a Christmas present so he could use it for school. His first day back it was helpful. Usually, I have to write the words in cursive first so that he can look at how it's done. Very time consuming.not last night, lol.he just typed in the words and it shows you step-by-step how it should look.
It arrived on time. I gave to someone it as a Christmas gift. So far nothing to complain. It seemed easy to use and easy to replace the batteries.
I bought this dictionary/spell corrector for my 10 year old daughter in hopes that she will rely on this for spelling help as opposed to my computer. =) Everything seems to work great, but I cannot get the back to screw on properly for holding the batteries. Other than that, great tool.
I would recommend this item to parents and grandparents as a neat gift for a 6-9 year old who is reading. So this turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
She is starting to read (pretty well, actually) and sometimes asks her parents what a certain word means. My granddaughter who is 6 just loved this talking dictionary.
It is a lot easier for a six year old to use an electronic gadget to "look up" a word than to use a dictionary. Also, she on occasion asks how to spell certain words.
When she started using this item, she immediately loved it. Additionally, she loves the games, especially "Hangman".
It was everything I hoped it would be.
